Ingredients
Scale
1 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons crushed garlic
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 1/2 pounds beef tri tip (or more if you want extra leftovers—I respect that)
Instructions
- Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and pineapple juice in a bowl to create your marinade.
- Gently massage your tri tip with kindness and marinade. Store in the fridge for at least 1 hour (or 2, if you want to level up the flavor).
- Grill over medium heat for 25 minutes per side. Admire the beauty you’re creating. Splash some extra marinade on it as it grills. Show off your flair.
- Let the beef rest (you’ve earned it) for 15 minutes. Then slice against the grain like a boss.
- Sprinkle green onions on top for a final touch and gather your audience. It’s showtime.
Notes
Make Ahead: Marinate the tri tip overnight for maximum flavor.
Serving Ideas: Serve with steamed rice, grilled veggies, or a crisp Asian slaw. Leftovers: Great for sandwiches or stir-fries the next day!
